Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were horrified when they set their sights on the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII rings for the first time.
The couple was jubilant as they opened personalized boxes containing the rings at a ceremony in Kansas City on Thursday night.
The quarterback and tight end added the luxurious piece of jewelry to their hands as they held up their three rings in front of the camera.
This year’s ring, made by Jostens, contains 529 diamonds each (505 round diamonds, 19 baguette diamonds and five marquise diamonds) along with 38 rubies in the team’s signature color.
Of course, it’s not all spectacle.

The couple quickly added the new piece of luxurious jewelry to the collection at hand.
The team explained that there is a lot of symbolism, starting with the interlocking arrowhead logo made of 16 rubies custom cut to represent the 16 division titles in franchise history.
The word “world” features 39 diamonds to represent the number of touchdowns the team scored last season, while the corresponding word “champions” contains 70 diamonds to represent the points scored in the Chiefs’ three playoff victories. AFC.
The bottom of the ring also features a diagram of the winning play in which the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime in February.
‘Winning back-to-back Super Bowl championships is an incredibly difficult and rare feat. “It helps define the legacies of the franchises, the coaches and the players, and is a testament to the commitment and dedication required of everyone in the organization,” said Chiefs president Mark Donovan.
“This incredible piece of wearable art is a true symbol of the team’s journey to capture the franchise’s fourth Lombardi Trophy, and we couldn’t be prouder to represent Chiefs Kingdom as champions once again,” he added.
Kelce arrived at the ceremony looking red hot and opted for a bold all-red ensemble.
The tight end opted for an all-red suit, with a ‘TK’ ornament around his neck.
Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, gave fans a sneak peek at the event.
The glamorous evening featured lots of candles and plenty of red accents on the tables.
“Good operator, baby,” he was heard saying as he walked the red carpet.
When asked what inspired the outfit, the athlete responded: “Chiefs Kingdom, baby.” according to reporter Matt Derrick.
Fans would be forgiven for thinking Kelce may have taken a page from the book of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, who became synonymous with the color red after releasing an album of the same name in 2012.
Meanwhile, Mahomes opted for a black suit jacket, which was embellished with black stones.
She also accessorized it with a stack of silver necklaces and a matching chain bracelet.
Just hours before it all started, Kelce generated buzz for the new piece of jewelry in a teaser video shared by the Chiefs on social media.
The Catching Kelce alum was seen holding three fingers in the air, to mark the third Super Bowl win of his career, while pointing to his ring finger.
Whether intentional or not, Swift’s legion of fans thought the clip was a cheeky nod to the engagement rumors swirling around the couple.
