Cristiano Ronaldo’s power of persuasion in Al-Nassr seems to have worked again, after his last outing with the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese icon scored the winning goal for his Saudi team in Wednesday’s 1-0 AFC Champions League victory over Al Feiha, and eagle-eyed spectators may have noticed a key element that had returned to his clothing.

Those who looked closely would have noticed something different about the Al-Nassr jersey that Ronaldo was wearing.

Because for the first time since his move to the Middle East, the 39-year-old was wearing a long-sleeved club shirt, something that has become synonymous with the Portuguese captain.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has taken to wearing long-sleeved shirts, whether at Manchester United, Real Madrid or Juventus.

Now, despite the warmer weather in Saudi Arabia, it seems he has finally fulfilled his signature wish: to wear a long-sleeved T-shirt in Al-Nassr’s colors.

He could previously be seen wearing the club’s most common short-sleeved shirt, while wearing a base layer underneath of the same color to make it look like long sleeves.

However, the Saudi club and kit suppliers Nike appear to have finally created a preferred version for their number one star.

He wasn’t alone either, nine of the other players in the starting eleven also wore the long-sleeved version, with only Marcelo Brozovic opting to stay in short sleeves along with goalkeeper Raghed Al-Najjar.

Ronaldo has won long-sleeved jerseys for most of his career for both club and country.

Ronaldo’s preference is not only at club level, the striker has always opted for long sleeves at international level as well.

His goal in the AFC Champions League victory means he has now scored 31 goals in 32 games this season.

However, Al-Nassr remains second in the Saudi Pro League, seven points behind leaders Al-Hilal, having lost to the leaders 2-0 earlier this month.
