Domenica Calarco has spoken candidly about her mental health struggles following criticism from Bachelor star turned podcaster Abbie Chatfield.
The backlash came after Calarco and fellow MAFS member Ella Ding introduced controversial boyfriend Jack Dunkley on their podcast, Sit With Us.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday morning, the former MAFS girlfriend shared a disturbing post revealing how she was taking time out to visit a mental health retreat.
“Over the last month, I have been struggling with some deep issues that have left me emotionally, physically, and psychologically exhausted,” she began.
‘Every day I try to be the strong, independent and joyful person you all know, but the reality is that I am not well and the recent discourse on social media has forced me to realize that I am at the end of my life. my bondage.’

She continued: ‘As someone who has dealt with mental illness for 15 years, I have realized that I need to put my health, both physical and mental, as the number one priority and have decided to enter a mental health retreat. ‘
Controversy erupted after Domenica and Ella faced criticism for their interview with Jack Dunkley, who previously sparked outrage by telling his co-star Jonathan McCullough to “gag” his wife Lauren Dunn during a dinner.
The interview sparked a heated response from Abbie, further intensifying the scrutiny on the podcast’s hosts.

Domenica previously broke her silence in a series of TikTok videos, in which she revealed to her fans that she has been experiencing extreme anxiety.
In one clip, the brunette admitted that she was struggling to leave the house due to stress and had even started scratching her skin as a reaction to anxiety.
“It’s really unhealthy,” he said, showing a series of self-inflicted scratches on his arm.
“It’s scary that this stress, this anxiety, this pressure, this feeling of failure and this feeling of ‘I’m not good enough’ and this feeling of ‘I screwed up’ manifests itself in this way of wanting.” do that to me, want to run away, be very afraid,’ she lamented.

Domenica also shared a video of her putting her makeup back on after crying in her room.
“So, this is how I recover after crying and hating myself,” she said, putting on a fresh coat of concealer, blush, and lip liner.

‘I don’t think those girls know why the muzzle comment was wrong. I think that’s the biggest problem,’ she stated.

The former Bachelor contestant also stated that her co-stars on the reality dating show weren’t ready to have conversations about misogyny and feminism.
“I think the first step would be, since you’re not ready to have these conversations, to not have it at all,” the FBoy Island host said.
‘And say: ‘I’m not going to talk about being a misogynist if I can’t denounce it.’ Another thing you could do is, if you’re going to support him, defend your position and ask him why he thinks this is right and also understand why the muzzle comment was wrong.’
