Apple is working to fix an issue that has caused some users to complain that their iPhone alarms are not ringing or ringing too quietly.
The company said it was aware of the issue, which was spotted by TikTok users who complained about incidents where their alarm did not go off.
“This has probably been the third or fourth day in a row that my alarm hasn’t gone off,” he said. a TikTok user.
Another said: “I’ve noticed over the last week that my alarm wasn’t waking me up.” Users said the issue was causing them timing issues.
Apple said it was working to fix the issue quickly, although it’s unclear how many people have been affected or what devices are involved.
Another TikTok user, in a video that has obtained almost 10 million views, said that the alarm on his iPhone 15 had gone off at the “lowest volume” and claimed that the problem was related to an “attention awareness” feature enabled on his phone. “Apple, are you trying to get people fired?” the user added.
Apple declined to comment on whether the feature was the reason for the alarm issue, which was first reported by NBC’s Today show. The attention feature reduces the sound of alerts if users look at their device. If you’re looking at your phone, the screen also goes dark until you stop looking at it.
Apple has a online advice page in alarms, which aims to control the alarm volume through the “Sounds & Haptics” feature in settings, and adds that the “do not disturb” and “silent mode” options do not affect the alarm sound. The page also recommends that users check that their alarm sound is not set to “none.”
