YouTube star Spanian has come under fire after a video posted to social media captured his true feelings about being approached in public by a fan.
Anthony Lees, 37, better known by his nickname Spanish, was approached by a woman before entering a Sydney pub.
She politely said, ‘You have a YouTube channel, right? My boyfriend watches your videos.’
Spanian entered the pub without responding but was later filmed in the slot machine room after receiving some advice from his cameraman.
‘So I should be more sociable with people, because I act like I don’t care?’ The Spaniard said.
‘That’s the thing bro, I acted exactly how I felt and it’s like I didn’t care.
‘I didn’t ask any questions, I didn’t ask to know about your husband’s television habits.
‘I have my own life to live, so if I acted like I didn’t care it’s because I don’t care.
‘Do you think I’m running for Parliament?
‘I’m from jail, who do you think you’re watching, buddy? Follow the program.

In another video, Spanian explains his frustration that his fans recognized him on the street while he was out at night.
‘I’m not going to stop and take a selfie with every person who recognizes me.
‘If it’s boys, I’ll say yes.
“But if they’re adults, they’ll think I’m rude, but I’m not stopping to take selfies with every 30-year-old I see.”
Many Australians criticized the Spaniard and stated that he was ungrateful to his fans who made him famous.
“Be very careful, the same people can disconnect you,” said one.
“I saw him in town a few weeks ago, all I said was hello Spanish, and he completely ignored me, just pretended I wasn’t there,” said another.
“Well, well, well, he doesn’t want attention now,” a third added.
A fourth said: “Can’t handle the fame.”
‘When you make money with these people, then you should worry. Because you will go downhill, as will your social events and so will your kebabs,” said a fifth.
In his latest venture, the ex-offender opened a food truck selling kebabs in Sydney.

But other Australians were quick to defend him.
‘He is who he is, take it or leave it. He’s downright real, and that’s rare nowadays,” one said.
‘To all the crybabies, as if Spanish wasn’t 10 times worse a few years ago. Like he said, who do you think you’re looking at, dude?,” added a second.
Spanian spent a total of 13 years in prison before turning 30 for various crimes, including ATM robbery, assault and drug distribution.
After his release, he briefly attempted a career as a rapper before finding a large audience by posting videos on YouTube.
She published an autobiography in 2021, but her editor quickly abandoned it due to controversial comments she made about the LGBTQI+ World Pride events, claiming that an agenda was being imposed on children.
In the book, he wrote: “It’s not as simple as getting out of jail and moving on with your life, it stays with you.”
“I can’t get rid of it, I’m antisocial and I don’t please the outside world at all,” he wrote.
