A homicide investigation has been launched following the suspicious death of a man.
The man’s body was found inside a property on Simla Street in Mitcham, in Melbourne’s east, about 5.45pm on Thursday.
A paramedic was allegedly assaulted by a 27-year-old woman in the house when they arrived at the scene.
Police then arrested the woman, from Ashwood, in the city’s south-east.
She remains in the hospital under police guard and has not yet been interviewed.
The death of the man, who has not yet been identified, is considered suspicious.
The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
