Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers completely botched his brief remarks pledging 94 delegate votes for Vice President Kamala Harris' nomination at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers made a complete mistake when he called up his state’s delegates to cast their votes for Kamala Harris to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

On a national stage and in front of thousands of members of his party, Evers stunned with brief comments so confusing that social media users speculated he was drunk, high or experiencing a medical emergency.

“Is Tony Evers drunk?” wrote The Dispatch editor Jonah Goldberg.

The Democratic governor took the microphone at the United Center on Tuesday to ceremoniously cast all but one of Wisconsin’s delegate votes for Vice President Harris.

The roll call, while just a formality after Harris was already formally nominated as the Democratic candidate in November, is a moment for each state and territory to step into the spotlight and highlight its accomplishments.

Some states featured celebrity appearances, with Georgia bringing out Atlanta-native rapper Lil Jon for a surprise performance on the stadium floor Tuesday and actor Sean Astin, known for Lord of the Rings and Rudy, joining Indiana’s delegation in casting their ballots.

When it was Wisconsin’s turn to take the microphone, Evers took center stage.

“I’m here because I’m very excited to announce that Wisconsin cast one present vote and 94 yes votes… where are we?” the governor said, seemingly losing his place in his brief remarks.

“I got to thinking about this,” he joked before continuing to blast the list: “Ex-Wisconsin, ex-American… Oh my God.”

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler tried to keep Evers’ spirits up and encouraged him to keep going, saying, “We love you, Tony!”

When the governor attempted to continue, he was interrupted by chants of his name.

Wisconsinites wearing cheese hats encouraged Gov. Evers to press on despite repeatedly failing in his remarks to thousands of Democrats at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and those watching from home.

“I’ll get there, Jason,” he joked to DNC Secretary Jason Rae, who was taking roll call from the stage.

“94 votes for the former Vice President of Wisconsin and our next President of the United States of America, Kamala Harris,” he concluded, almost mispronouncing Harris’s last name.

Meanwhile, House of Pain’s “Jump Around” played in the background during the hard-to-watch comments during roll call and fellow Wisconsinites donned their famous triangular cheese hats.

One X user from Cleveland wrote: ‘Tony Evers ruining Wisconsin delegate votes while the DJ plays House of Pain is really the Democratic Party.’

“Wisconsin Governor Evers nailed it, nailed it,” another commented sarcastically.

One X user wrote: “Embarrassing: Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers does the same thing as Joe Biden in trying to get 94 votes for Kamala. He stumbles, he flubs, and he barely makes it.”
