A driver has been charged with murder over a fatal traffic crash involving an Uber in Brisbane’s west.
Kai Fursey, 28, was allegedly behind the wheel of a Ford Mondeo when it collided with a Toyota Camry at an intersection in Wacol shortly after 2 a.m. on May 28, reports courier mail.
A passenger in the Camry, which was an Uber car, died at the scene and has since been identified as Ryan Grafton, 30, from the Gold Coast.
Another passenger in the Uber, a 26-year-old woman, and the driver were rushed to the hospital after the accident.
It is understood the 42-year-old driver suffered back injuries in the crash.
A driver has been arrested following an alleged fatal hit-and-run last week.
The accident occurred on the corner of Boundary Rd and Progress Rd in Wacol on May 28.
In a statement, Queensland Police said a 28-year-old Goodna man had reported to Acacia Ridge Police without incident on June 3 after allegedly fleeing the scene of the accident on foot.
In a new update Tuesday night, police said the Goodna man had been charged with one count of murder and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
He was also charged with driving while disqualified, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of possession of dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and theft. .
Fursey will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
