Pratapgarh (UP):
A 35-year-old woman was beaten to death with sticks on Monday over a dispute over sound box playing in Govindpur village under Leelapur police station in Pratapgarh district, police said.
Police have registered a case of murder against three suspects, including the victim’s brother-in-law.
Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjay Rai said that on Monday evening at Govindpur village under Leelapur police station, in a dispute over sound board playing, the family members seriously injured Kalavati (35), wife of Laxmikant Gautam, by hitting her with hitting sticks.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where doctors pronounced her dead.
On her husband’s complaint, the police have registered a case of murder against the deceased’s brother-in-law Shiv Prakash, his son Deepak and his wife and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
