Donald Trump’s odds of winning the Oval Office are now -178 following Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw, meaning bookmakers rate him with a 62 percent chance of emerging as the next president in November.
That was a slight drop from the previous day, when the president’s odds were pegged at 64 percent, suggesting some uncertainty as Democrats consider a new nominee.
In contrast, Biden’s odds plummeted to a paltry +9900, according to Prediction – meaning he now has just a one percent chance of winning a second term.
His vice president, Kamala Harris, saw her odds rise dramatically to +178, up from +900 just days ago on July 16. In June, before Biden’s disastrous debate performance, her odds were even lower, at +2400.
That means bookmakers have estimated he is 12 times more likely to win than a month ago, when pundits saw Biden’s odds at around 50-50.
That statistic has since been cut in half six times, as the election rapidly approaches. As it does, other figures also have surprising odds, from California’s Gavin Newsom to former first lady Michelle Obama.
