Fans of former President Donald Trump have suggested the Republican candidate ditch the Secret Service and hire private security instead.
The comments come after a second assassination attempt on Trump occurred within a two-month period.
At X, online commentators suggested Trump use military veterans — or even the Hells Angels motorcycle gang — as protection instead of Secret Service members.
Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, best known for killing Osama bin Laden, was among those who weighed in.
“Maybe we should outsource private security for President Trump… for God’s sake,” O’Neill posted on X. “How many failures can one crew have? Let me know if you need me…”

“I hope President Trump considers using personal security in addition to or instead of the Secret Service,” said another user, @janemuloli.

O’Neill was among those military veterans.

Supporters of the former president have become increasingly skeptical of the Secret Service, with some pointing out that Trump is being impeached by the federal government, so how can any government entity keep him safe?
President Joe Biden blamed the incidents on the Secret Service being under-resourced and said Monday it needed to be beefed up.
“The Secret Service needs more help,” Biden said. “Congress should respond to their needs.”
Trump supporters online had more creative ideas.

Several X users also pointed out that Trump has the means to buy additional protection.

Trump has a large fan base among bikers and has had an official group, “Bikers for Trump,” since his first campaign for the White House in 2016.
Several X users also pointed out that Trump has the means to buy additional protection.
“Trump is rich and has substantial financial resources; he can afford to hire private security for himself and his family,” said user X @OscarNonis.
@Todayshowviewer shared that sentiment.
“Trump is a billionaire and owns the golf club. There’s no reason he can’t provide additional security beyond the Secret Service,” user X said.
