With the NFL season set to kick off in a week when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens, one would expect Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce to be completely focused on the game and the season ahead.
But it seems he’s deep into his Lover era, with girlfriend Taylor Swift still at the forefront of his mind.
The tight end made the remarks Wednesday night while on stage with Patrick Mahomes and a few other Chiefs stars at the team’s annual kickoff luncheon at the Loews Kansas City Hotel in Missouri.
Mitch Holthus, the voice of the Chiefs and host of the event, talked about how much love he had for everyone on stage.
Both Mahomes and Kelce returned the favor with their own ‘I love you’s.

However, when Holthus asked Kelce if his love for him was greater than the love he has for Swift, the tight end replied, “Maybe not.”
This caused laughter throughout the audience before the topic quickly returned to football.
But that wasn’t the only time Swift was mentioned in the discussion.
Chiefs pass rusher Chris Jones joked that the Lombardi Trophy was just one of the things he hoped to bring back to Kansas City; he also wanted “more Swifties.”
Kelce then assured his teammate: “They’re on their way.”
This comes amid rumors about Kelce possibly purchasing an engagement ring for Swift.
Ahead of the new season, NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped a major hint that Travis may have purchased an engagement ring just over a year after his romance with Taylor began.
Schefter, one of the most respected journalists in the sport, jokingly questioned ESPN host Laura Rutledge when she reacted to the news about Kelce purchasing a racehorse with a name related to Swift, joking that he had not yet purchased a ring.
Chris Jones (95) joked that he wanted to bring back a Super Bowl and “more Swifties” to KC.
Travis and Taylor’s love story remains a hot topic almost a year after it began.
“Wait, I have a question,” he said. “Laura, how do you know Travis Kelce didn’t buy an engagement ring?”
Rutledge replied: “I don’t know. Do you know? Are you going to break any big news here?”
Scheftler paused, looking very sheepish before adding, “I’m just saying that you said he didn’t buy an engagement ring and I’m wondering how you have that information.”
Two-time NFL champion Booger McFarland said: “Wow, wow, wow… the awkward silence there says a lot. Schefty, you know something?”
“The United States wants to know.”
But Schefter responded: “All I did was ask him how Laura knew he hadn’t bought an engagement ring. That’s all I did.”
