Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have blamed the media storm surrounding their romance for ‘costing them their careers’ by ‘sparking controversy’, two years after their scandalous affair got them fired from ABC.
DailyMail.com exposed the former Good Morning America co-hosts for having an affair in 2022 and they have since been embroiled in intense scrutiny over their relationship.
After the affair became public, Amy, 51, split from husband Andrew Shue and TJ, 47, from wife Marilee Fiebig. Holmes was accused of other workplace affairs, including one with a 24-year-old “intern.”
They recently admitted that their PDA-filled relationship hit murky waters and are now pointing the finger at the media, calling the talk surrounding their romance “poisonous.”
During a recent episode of his podcast, Amy and TJ., reflected on the moment they lost their jobs and said they wished they had “cleared the air” sooner.

The lovebirds were speaking with Full House star Jodie Sweetin and discussed the “controversy” surrounding their romance.
Amy said: ‘You know how, we already know, some publications love to jump into anything, even appearing to create controversy where it doesn’t even exist.’
Jodie chimed in, claiming she had “gone crazy” from hearing other people’s opinions.
And while the Full House actress said she had to stop participating, TJ and Amy claimed that ignoring the headlines ruined their careers.
TJ explained: “The fact that we ignore and don’t respond has cost us jobs and careers. Those things are sometimes very poisonous and they can do more than just mess with your head. They can have real-world consequences.”
“Let’s give each other a little grace to not be perfect,” Jodie added.
“And especially those of us in front of the camera, because now the cameras are everywhere. Before you’d say, ‘Okay, turn it off… go act crazy over there,’ you know?”
The lovebirds spoke to Full House star Jodie Sweetin and told her more about the fallout from their romance.
They previously opened up about their “difficult” relationship issues and admitted they put their romance “on the back burner” (seen in 2024)

Amy explained: ‘We’re together all the time, but we were either with the kids or we were working, and we worked a lot, which is great; we love working. But we didn’t have time for ourselves.
‘We work together and we have a relationship together and we were friends before as colleagues, so it’s kind of weird, you have the working relationship and then you have the romantic relationship, and the two don’t really coexist.’
His lover echoed his views and admitted that they did not prioritize each other.
They admitted that although they could now “laugh it off” and were more in love than ever, they did not say a word to each other during the flight.
