Whoopi Goldberg has admitted that she doesn’t like moderating her beloved ABC show, The View, as much as she used to.
The 68-year-old actor joined the daytime show in 2007 and is currently on the panel alongside Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
During an interview on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? Whoopi was asked if she liked working on the show, and she didn’t hold back with her response, revealing: ‘I liked it better before because there wasn’t… people didn’t assume that you were starting to be.’ unpleasant or horrible or saying things.’
Whoopi elaborated further: “You used to say something and someone would say, ‘Well, it’s not really like that,’ and you could make that adjustment or you could say, ‘Well, that’s why I thought of it this way. “But you can’t do that anymore.

‘No one wants to hear what you were thinking. They just say, “That’s what you said and that must mean your whole life is that,” and it’s like wow!
Chris, 76, responded: “And this goes back to the idea of weaponizing an opinion…”, while Whoopi added: “I feel like now you always have to protect what you say because you don’t want to piss people off.” .
The journalist then said, “Well, I was going to ask you, is there anything that’s bothering you right now that you want to say?”
Whoopi replied: ‘Yes, but if I say it, it will only be a problem! It will only be a problem for you!’
Elsewhere in the interview, Chris really wanted to talk to Whoopi about his views on marriage and brought up the fact that he’s been divorced three times.
‘Why aren’t you destined to get married? Don’t you want to share? Chris asked, to which Whoopi responded, “No, I don’t care, I don’t care how you feel,” before bursting into laughter.
‘It’s awful. You know, when you’re married to someone, you have to be involved in how they feel and I don’t.
“I’m involved in my son, I’m involved in his children, I’m involved in my son-in-law, I’m involved in my friends, but I’m not involved in a relationship that would require as much as having a child requires and I know that’s not for me.” .’

Then she added: ‘And that’s why I’m not adverse to hit-and-runs. I know you’re not supposed to say that, but I think you should because not everyone is meant to be married, but a lot of people enjoy sex, so sometimes a little hit and run isn’t bad.
Whoopi was previously married to her drug counselor Alvin Martin from 1973 to 1979, to cinematographer David Claessen from 1986 to 1988, and then married actor Lyle Trachtenberg in 1994, but they divorced the following year.
Whoopi had previously spoken about this aspect of her personal life in her new memoir, Bits And Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, And Me, which was published on May 7.
In the book, Whoopi admits: “It took me a long time to realize that it was also cheaper to ‘just throw a party.’ At this age, I don’t even bother going to a party, who needs that much hassle? It’s all about a “hit and run.”
He continues: “And I only have them with someone who fully understands that this is just a hit and run. I don’t even want to have to throw empty beer bottles into the recycling bin after someone’s been there too long. I don’t need them no one stays after that.
Referring to her three weddings, the Oscar winner says, “I was married three times before I realized it was better to be single full-time.”
