Uruguay’s defeat to Colombia in the Copa America semi-finals ended in extremely unpleasant fashion when Darwin Núñez and Ronald Araujo brawled with fans in the stands afterwards.
The Liverpool striker, who had a frustrating night in front of goal, could be seen throwing punches in a video in scenes following the 1-0 defeat.
A Colombian fan could be seen throwing a drink at Núñez and his Uruguay teammates, while José Giménez appeared to be playing peacemaker.
The defender is reported to be saying It was later reported on television that the players’ families, who were sitting very close to the fans, were “swarmed” by the supporters.
“This is a disaster, our families are in danger,” he said. “There is not a single police officer.”
