And now a source has revealed that Channel Nine will be in no rush to hand over the money.
According to the source, The Block contestants receive their hard-earned profits in installments to protect the show’s “brand.”
“You don’t get it for 12 months,” said former Blockheads Yahoo Lifestyle on Mondays.
“It’s spread out over that period so you don’t speak badly on the show, and if you do, you won’t get your money.”
In February 2024, Block fan favorites Eliza and Liberty revealed to the publication that they had not seen any of their $1.05 million prize money.
The couple had sold their East Hampton renovation on auction day for $4.3 million.
Meanwhile, once Blockheads collect money, they won’t have to pay taxes on the prize money.

Courtney and Grant started auction day with a surprising victory and also sold their property to billionaire Adrian Portelli for a whopping $3.3 million.
This sale gave the couple an incredible $1.35 million profit on their $1.95 million reserve, instantly propelling them to The Block’s all-time top earners.
Kylie and Brad Baker also laughed all the way to the bank on auction day, and Portelli made another headline-grabbing purchase, securing Kylie and Brad’s property for $2.6 million.
The couple made a sensational return on Sunday night after the mother-of-four vowed she would never return to the Channel Nine show.

The Melbourne sisters confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that they knew from the beginning during filming of the series that Portelli had his eye on their property.
“Adrian showed interest in all the houses from the beginning,” Charlotte said.
“We had had quite a few conversations with Adrian over the last few weeks and spent some time together, so we knew he was interested in all the houses,” she said.
“It was surreal to see it unfold, but we feel incredibly lucky that he invested in ours.”
