Laura Byrne on Friday revealed the surprising discovery she recently made about her daughter Marlie Mae’s LOL doll.
The Bachelor star, 38, told her Life Uncut podcast that she bought a new doll for her five-year-old son but was forced to take it away when she noticed an “inappropriate” detail.
She explained to co-host Brittany Hockley that the boy toy was wearing a “fluorescent yellow thong” underneath his clothes and looked “very tacky.”
“I’m absolutely… stunned. (Marlie) got a (doll) the other day… it’s got very adult-looking clothes on, I guess it’s like the old Barbie,” Laura said.
“But you take off her pants, like kids do when they change, and she’s wearing a yellow thong. This doll is wearing a yellow thong. Fluorescent yellow.
“I thought, ‘I really like that thong, but it’s so inappropriate for a five-year-old doll. It’s so hypersexualized for a child’s toy.'”
When pressed for more details by fellow dollmaker Brittany, 37, Laura said: “I don’t want to doll-shaming, but it’s crap. It’s a crap toy.”
It’s not Laura’s only negative run-in with a doll, as in 2021 she was forced to tearfully apologize when she called a doll with Down syndrome “scary.”

The reality TV star posted on Instagram after receiving an influx of messages from fans correcting the mistake she made during a shopping trip to K-Mart.
Earlier in the day, she shared a clip of herself and her daughter Marlie, who was one year old at the time, looking at a doll in the toy section of the department store.
The mother of two then filmed the $15 inclusive doll from K-mart on the shelf and said: “This baby right here is really petrifying, it’s doll AF (scary as f**k).”
The video included the doll’s name and description: “Baby Amelia with Down syndrome.”

Some time later, the former reality star returned to her Instagram story and accepted responsibility for her words while issuing a remorseful apology.
“I’m probably drawing attention to something that… fuck, I can’t even begin to describe how sorry I am,” he began.
The podcaster explained that she had received “a ton of messages” from her followers in response to the stories she had shared.
‘I posted a story, Marlie and I were running through K-Mart and I thought, “This doll looks so scary,” that’s exactly what I said.’

She told her followers that she actually thought the doll “looked tired.”
“A lot of you have messaged me to tell me that this was actually an inclusive doll and I feel bad for the mistake I made,” she said.
Laura began to cry as she added: “I had no idea and I’m really sorry that I offended anyone, it was totally unintentional.”
