“I remember most of it,” he said. ‘Everything happened very quickly and obviously I was on the ice when it happened.

“When we saw the injury and saw what happened, we all knew it was bad,” Bjorkung said.
‘We wanted to protect him and everyone else from seeing what was happening on the ice. At that moment he was in a very vulnerable situation. All of us, as players, were vulnerable too, but you have to put your own ego aside and think about what is best for the people around you.
“A lot of the trauma I’ve been dealing with and all my teammates I’ve been talking to after I left, it’s not easy.”
Bjorkung told the Panthers she would not return to the club following the incident and has since returned to her native Sweden.
