Some of the country’s biggest names have reacted to the Labor Party’s election victory as Anthony Albanese becomes Australia’s 31st Prime Minister.
Comedian Magda Szubanski savagely took down outgoing Prime Minister Scott Morrison in several tweets on Sunday, while actor and filmmaker Brendan Cowell criticized Morrison for his love of the NRL’s Cronulla Sharks.
Albanese will be sworn in as Prime Minister after winning at least nine Liberal Party seats.

Magda, 61, told her followers she had not felt this “happy since marriage equality”.
“Last night Australia showed that (despite the efforts of some) we are not a nation of Trump wannabes. We like good governance, the rule of law and idealistic/compassionate pragmatism,” he tweeted.
