A teenager accused of threatening three college students with a knife and forcing one of them to kiss her shoe will ask to be treated under the mental health law.
The 14-year-old girl faced Port Kembla Youth Court on Tuesday over a series of attacks that occurred on March 23 last year at the University of Wollongong.
She pleaded guilty to intimidation and three counts of assault with intent to rob while armed with an offensive weapon.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was captured on CCTV cameras arriving on campus along Northfields Avenue at around 7.30pm along with her 15-year-old classmate.
The pair sat on a brick wall before the 14-year-old threatened a 53-year-old Asian man with a three-inch knife and demanded money, court documents seen by the Mercury Illawarra revealed.

The man told the girls he had no money and walked away as the couple “appeared to look for more victims.”
The 14-year-old then approached a 34-year-old woman near the bus stop and shouted, ‘Damn it, give me your money,’ to which she responded that she didn’t have any.
The woman walked away and asked a passing car for help while the girls ran after her and continued demanding money.
Three minutes later, the teens saw a 25-year-old woman walking alone and approached her from behind.
The 14-year-old waved the knife at the woman’s throat and demanded she hand him money.
After the woman, a college student, said she had no money, the teenager forced her to kiss his shoe while the 15-year-old girl laughed and shared the attack over a Facetime call with another friend.
Court documents revealed that the 14-year-old told the woman to “hurry up and kiss my shoe” while he held a knife to her throat.
The 15-year-old girl watched and laughed as she shared the attack over a Facetime call with another friend.
The woman explained that she felt humiliated by the ordeal but complied with the demand because the teens promised to let her go if she kissed the girl’s shoe.
Police arrested the couple the next morning after seeing them on campus wearing the same clothes as the night of the attacks: sweatpants and brightly colored Nike TNs.
CCTV footage showed the 14-year-old girl, along with her 15-year-old companion, entering the University of Wollongong campus along Northfields Avenue (pictured) before threatening a man with a knife and demanding money.
The 15-year-old voluntarily handed over a knife after police asked the girls if they had weapons in their possession.
The 14-year-old’s defense lawyer, Hannah Dreher, confirmed the guilty pleas and told the court an application would be made for her client to be treated under the mental health law.
She remains in custody at a juvenile detention center and will appear in court again in two weeks for sentencing.
His 15-year-old accomplice was given a 12-month probation order after the court heard he had a history of “extreme deprivation”.
The court also heard she carried the knife for her own protection because she suffered neglect and abuse.
