A pregnant woman was attacked by a vicious pit bull in front of her two young children after it suddenly attacked her while they were walking through the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Terrifying video shows Reyna Gutierrez walking down Amanda Lane in Dallas at 3:48 pm on Tuesday before the dog suddenly runs across the street.
Gutiérrez, who was eight months pregnant, was cornered between two parked cars and the dog jumped out and mauled her.
Her terrified six-year-old daughter screamed and fled and her nine-year-old son jumped on top of a car to avoid the dog while she tried to fight him off with her son’s backpack.

A neighbor ran to help and the dog turned on him, attacking him as he backed away and then fell onto the road.
He managed to get the dog off of him and it ran away while Gutiérrez and his children escaped to their house.
The terrifying attack was recorded on camera at Gutiérrez and her husband Erik Roja’s street-facing door and was released by Dallas police.
Gutierrez suffered bites on both hands and forearms and was taken to the hospital for 24 hours to monitor her unborn child, police said.
The neighbor who intervened had wounds to his stomach.

Later, the video shows the dog’s owner arrive, put the animal on a leash and leave the street.
Gutierrez said he knew the owner lived in the area, but not his name or where exactly his house was.
‘I just want people to be responsible. How can you take your dog off leash knowing that he is aggressive? she said WFAA.
‘I couldn’t do anything, I tried to cover myself with my son’s backpack.’
He claimed the pit bull chased another person several days earlier, but the victim managed to escape.
Police spent Wednesday knocking on doors in the neighborhood trying to find the dog’s owner. The attack is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
