q Overall I’m happy with my face except for one thing, my lips. The vertical lines on my upper lip, and now my lower lip, are becoming more noticeable and are making me depressed. What do you suggest?
TO You can hydrate and plump the lip area with filler without making them bigger (and looking silly, which is a real risk after a certain age), but you need to be in the right hands.
My colleague Alice Hart-Davis (thetweakmentsguide.com) did her lips really well, so I’ll just tell you what she did!
A minimal amount of Restylane Kysse flexible filler (pictured) can eliminate the “dried raisin” look, returning the lips’ natural softness and shape.
Fitting expert Inge Van Lotringen (pictured) recommends finding a highly experienced specialist for this lip procedure.
Cosmetic physician Dr. Kuldeep Minocha (l-art.uk) used a minimal amount of flexible filler (Restylane Kysse) to eliminate the “dried raisin” look, returning the lips to their natural softness and shape.
He then used a firmer filler to revolume the columns of the philtrum (the vertical ridges between the nose and upper lip) that flatten and lengthen with age.
Complex work like this costs more than average (London-based Dr Minocha charges £1,200) but it’s worth looking for a highly experienced specialist.
