Ryan Garcia was on horseback as he approached the press conference for his upcoming fight with Devin Haney in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old rode a white horse and wore a matching all-white suit as he arrived at the Avalon Hollywood and Bardot for the second leg of his press tour. After dismounting from the horse, two men – who appeared to be his bodyguards – carried García on their shoulders to the front of the venue.

On Wednesday, Garcia heralded a spectacle for the Los Angeles audience. The tweet came after the first press conference in Brooklyn, New York, where she sat on a throne on stage while trading verbal blows with Haney.

“If you thought the press conference in New York was crazy,” Garcia wrote. ‘YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!’

García’s efforts did not end there either. On his way to the stage, Garcia followed an entourage of performers as he walked to Diddy’s ‘Missing You.’ Garcia previously wore a T-shirt with a photo of Haney and the rapper in a pool.

King Ryan has been in the spotlight for several reasons in the lead-up to the fight, most of which relate to his social media activity.

While scheduled to fight Haney, Garcia campaigned for an MMA fight against UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. He called UFC president Dana White to let him fight in the organization against the 135-pound champion. His efforts, however, have been in vain.

Garcia also announced his relationship with Australian influencer Mikaela Testa earlier this week. While she was doing so, she posted a 50-50 grid of the images of her, but has since removed it from her social media accounts.

‘Stop judging her, she’s perfect, no. But you are? THOUGHT LIKE THIS. I love her, so stop hating her,’ García wrote about Teste. “By the way, I’m training her to fight and I’m willing to put her against anyone on @misfitsboxing and if you feel like you can take her, tag yourself in it and I’ll set up a fight and you’re off.” with a bag.

“No less than $500,000 and a percentage of the PPV if that makes sense.”

While some fans accused Garcia of using drugs, others are more concerned about an apparent lack of focus on his upcoming fight.

“I want to clarify some things,” Garcia said Thursday. ‘I don’t use cocaine. “I drink and smoke marijuana, as do most people in this room.”

Haney currently holds the WBC junior welterweight and WBA lightweight titles. He is also undefeated at 31-0, with his most recent wins against Regis Prograis, Vasily Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr.

On the other hand, Garcia is coming off an eighth-round knockout victory over Oscar Duarte in December. Although he hasn’t fought fighters of the same caliber as Haney, Garcia has a record of 24-1. His only loss came via technical knockout against Gervonta Davis in April 2023.

Haney will defend his WBC title against Garcia on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
