The Red Devils confirmed that the former striker, who returned to Old Trafford in the summer as Erik ten Hag’s assistant, was leaving the club.
Van Nistelrooy’s departure followed the arrival of Ruben Amorim as Man United’s new manager, with the 39-year-old bringing his own coaching staff to the club.
René Hake, Ten Hag’s other number 2, goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar and performance analyst Pieter Morel were also fired to make way for Amorim’s team.

“There must be certain things you want to do and you don’t agree with the manager, which you can say, but it doesn’t matter because the responsibility is the manager.”
“Just watching him for three games, he did well in Holland, winning the Dutch Cup. To me it seems like he is cut out to be a coach, I think he is better than a simple assistant manager.”
