Rosenborg’s clash with Lillestrom was abandoned on Sunday after fans expressed their feelings about VAR.

There were four protests against VAR in the first 30 minutes, with both sets of fans throwing tennis balls, flares and fish cakes before the match was abandoned.

Rosenborg ultras threw tennis balls onto the pitch, forcing the players to leave the field under the new rules.

They then raised a banner that read: “We will never give up, VAR will disappear.”

The players walked out and the stadium announcer said that if there were any more interruptions, the game would be suspended.

After 25 minutes, Lillestrom fans again threw more tennis balls onto the pitch, holding the same banner.

Once again this caused the players to walk away, and after waiting, the announcer again said that one more stoppage and the game would be abandoned.

“I hate, I hate, I fucking hate VAR” chanted both groups of fans.
