What could be lovelier than staying in Slebech Park, Pembrokeshire, whose Grade II listed coach house was described by a visitor last month as “a piece of paradise”?
Well, quite a bit really, says Tim Hanbury, a friend of the Duke of Beaufort since his days at Eton.
“I would not 100 percent recommend the Slepeck (sic) Park Country Hotel for a romantic stay.”

Hanbury advertises on social media, gifting friends with a series of snapshots of Slebech that are in sad contrast to the drone images on the hotel’s website.
His wife, Emma, to whom Hanbury gives the playful alias “Wemdog,” compared his stay, he adds, to “being in a jail.”
The hotel, which has received both praise and criticism, declined to comment. But perhaps it can take solace in knowing that the Hanburys are not like other guests.
His eldest daughter, Marina, is the third wife of Ned Lambton, Earl of Durham, owner of Lambton Castle and Biddick Hall in County Durham and the stunning Villa Cetinale in Tuscany.
Their youngest daughter, former model Rose Hanbury, a friend of the Prince and Princess of Wales, is married to the Marquess of Cholmondeley, who owns the splendid Houghton Hall in Norfolk and Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.
