Prince Harry realizes being royalty ‘doesn’t count for much’ in the US, says Royal expert

Prince Harry’s enthusiasm for living in America is reportedly fading as he comes to terms with the fact that being a prince is not such a big deal across the pond. Harry, the Duke of Sussex, moved to the US after stepping down as a senior royal in 2020, along with his wife Meghan Markle. Now, the couple live in their £12million Montecito mansion with their two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Royal expert Tom Quinn said Mirror“During his first six months in America, Harry found everything new and exciting, but the glamour is definitely wearing off. No matter how big your garden is (and Harry and Meghan’s garden in Montecito is huge), there’s only so much you can do when you have no practical skills and have always paid people to cook, clean and work in your garden.”

Quinn also noted that The Heritage Foundation’s lawsuit, which questions Harry’s veracity in his… Visa applicationcould threaten their stay in the United States. “The couple have sought legal advice because they are seriously concerned that if Donald Trump wins the next election, Harry’s visa could be revoked. Trump has insisted that if Harry is found to have lied on his visa application about his admission of drug use, he could be asked to leave the country,” he added.

“At first, Harry thought this couldn’t happen to him, as normal rules don’t apply to a royal prince, but he’s increasingly realising that in the US being a prince doesn’t really count for much,” Quinn concluded.

This realization marks a significant change for Harry, who initially found the novelty of his New life in America exciting. However, as time goes on, the prince is faced with the reality that his royal status does not grant him the same privileges in the US as in the UK. This, coupled with the legal challenges he faces, underscores the difficulties of his transition to a new life.

As Harry faces these challenges, he comes to realize that his royal status has little influence in the U.S. — a stark contrast to the recognition and privileges he enjoyed in the U.K. This realization comes amid legal pressures and ongoing adjustments to their new life in America. The couple’s concerns about their future in the U.S. highlight the uncertainties they face as they continue to build their lives away from the royal spotlight.
