Prince Andrew could face new shame for his friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein with the publication of new court documents in the United States.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered documents related to a 2006 investigation into the sexual abuse of teenage girls and young women by billionaire Epstein to be made public.

The Grand Jury investigation led to a controversial “sweetheart deal” in which Epstein pleaded guilty to two counts of prostitution in exchange for a light 18-month sentence, even though police had identified many more victims.

Two of Epstein’s accusers have previously alleged that Andrew, as well as other high-profile friends of the pedophile, “pressured” the US government for a lenient deal.

In 2019, Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

While sources close to Andrew have previously described the allegation that he lobbied on Epstein’s behalf as “a complete lie”, last night another woman abused by Epstein claimed that the Duke of York will face a “day of reckoning” when the reports are published. documents. in July, The Sunday Mirror reported.

She added: “What more does it take for him to realize that his friendship with Jeffrey will never go away?”

But a legal source closely linked to the Epstein case told The Mail on Sunday last night that it was “highly unlikely” that Andrew’s name would appear in the documents as his relationship with the pedophile was not mentioned at the time.
