A teenager was injured after a vehicle hit him in an alleged hit-and-run incident.

The 13-year-old boy was walking along Bay Street in Port Melbourne when he was hit by a black van about 6.10pm on May 5.

The teenager was taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The driver of the van appeared to stop for a moment, but did not offer help and quickly drove away.

Some grainy footage after the incident showed the black ute leaving the scene.

The black ute (above top right) appeared to stop briefly but its driver never offered any help to the teenager (above centre) and sped off.

In the video, released by police on Thursday, the teen can be seen on a traffic island in the middle of an intersection.

The 13-year-old appears to be limping after being hit.
