Fan heaters sold in hundreds of stores across Australia over five years are being urgently recalled because they pose a fire hazard.
Olimpia Splendid Australia heaters were recalled by Product Safety Australia and Energy Safe Victoria on Friday.
They were sold in hundreds of stores from July 2019 to June 2024.
The heaters were sold at Harvey Norman, Good Guys, Bi-Rite Electrical and Betta Electrical/Home Living throughout Australia.
Smaller stores and some independent retailers also sold the fans.

Consumers are entitled to a full refund when the item is returned to the store where it was purchased.
The affected models are the Caldo Relax with code number 99316 and the Caldo Whisper with code number VH-2000.

“This product does not comply with the relevant electrical standard. The heater may overheat and catch fire,” the recall notice states.
‘There is a risk of serious burns and property damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.’
People should stop using fans immediately and unplug them.
