An angry surfer has demanded that the man who caused horrific injuries to his wife while she was surfing comes forward.
Cary Gilbert said the shocking incident happened on Thursday at around 8.15am at popular surfing spot Currumbin Alley on the Gold Coast, Queensland, which is notorious for raging waves and collisions.
Mr Gilbert said his wife, Bebe, has more than 25 years of surfing experience and is enthusiastic and competent.
He shared graphic images of a deep laceration to his wife’s head on a southern Gold Coast community Facebook group.
“I’m looking for the surfer who landed on my wife’s head and didn’t even get out of the water to help her through some pretty significant head trauma,” he wrote.
‘My wife told him verbally and clearly that she was not feeling well and that she had to come in.’
Mr Gilbert added: “It looks like he just paddled back out for some more fun and has probably been getting some amazing waves while he’s recovering at home with nine staples in his head and missing out on the action.”
He urged the attacker or someone who knows him to come forward.
“If this is you or your partner, please contact us!” she wrote.

He wrote that it’s never too late to check on the person you ran into and apologize for not noticing.
“We don’t need compensation, my wife is fine, she has no fractures, no concussion, no headache and somehow she has minimal pain. She took a week off work to recover.”
She concluded her post by saying, “A shout out to help her through her emotional process, find some sort of closure, and feel safe again within our surfing community as soon as possible is where she is at.”
Commenters on Mr Gilbert’s Facebook post shared their anger.
“It’s disgusting and horrible to leave her in the water like that. Did anyone help her? I hope she shows up,” wrote one Facebook user.
“This is appalling behaviour. I feel so sorry for his wife and hope she recovers well,” wrote another.
“My goodness, my friend. We wish you a speedy recovery. That looks bad, some people just don’t care.”
