Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan are in negotiations to potentially appear in the second season of the hit Netflix series Beef.
According DeadlineIsaac, 45, and Mulligan, 39, could star in the sequel, in which two couples face off.
The first season of the show starred Ali Wong and Steven Yeun.
The second season has not yet been greenlit, but creator Lee Sung Jin is reportedly working on the story.
Earlier this year, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway were in talks to play the lead roles, but the outlet reports that “ultimately did not come to fruition.”

May December star Charles Melton and Priscilla actress Cailee Spaeny are being considered to play the other couple.
Wong starred in the first season of the limited series as a small business owner of Chinese descent drawn into an escalating cycle of revenge and self-sabotage after a road rage incident involving a Korean-American contractor (Yeun).
The series won numerous accolades for its writing and lead actors, including five Primetime Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, four Critics’ Choice Awards, two SAG Awards, and trophies at the Independent Spirit and Producers Guild Awards.
It was previously said that Netflix and A24 wanted production on the second season to begin in late summer or come under the direction of showrunner and executive producer Lee Sung Jin.
In February, Ali Ali notably won Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series at the Independent Spirit Awards.
In his acceptance speech, he recognized the cast and crew who participated in the critically acclaimed project.
‘Oh man, Steven, Sonny, Jake and the rest of the cast and the amazing Beef crew, I wouldn’t be here without you. This is the best,’ he gushed.
“It has been a wonderful journey with you and I am very proud that you are my friends too,” she added.

Beef also won Best New Scripted Series; Wong, Yeun, and Jin took the stage to accept the honor.
