NICK CANDY: Why the world must pray, pray, pray that Trump is victorious

He has been the target of two assassination attempts, but Donald Trump will always be in the sphere of a liberal elite (on both sides of the Atlantic) that considers it incomprehensible that he could win the presidency of the United States again.

So blinded by their hatred of him, they cannot see that the West is at the foot of World War III, and that Trump is the only man who can prevent disaster. Because, make no mistake, President Joe Biden will leave the White House with the world in a much more dangerous state than Trump in 2021.

Trump’s presidency was the first in decades in which the United States avoided being drawn into foreign wars. During his tenure, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates became the third and fourth Arab countries to recognize Israel, mediated by White House adviser Jared Kushner and the Trump team.

Vladimir Putin dared not take advantage of his 2014 invasion of Crimea, which occurred during Barack Obama’s second term. He waited until Trump left office before trying to help the rest of Ukraine.

There is no coincidence in this. Trump instinctively knows how to deal with dictators.

He knew that Kim Jong Un needed flattery as well as threats, and so he paid him a state visit, after which North Korea’s saber-rattling was greatly reduced.

And he knew that Iran needed a firmer hand. Trump withdrew from the hopelessly naïve deal – negotiated by Obama – in which Tehran’s despotic mullahs were offered sanctions relief if they accepted that their nuclear enrichment program was for domestic energy use only.

Iran’s true intention was clear, and the theocracy is now widely thought to be just months away from developing a nuclear bomb.

On the domestic front, under President Trump, the economy performed solidly until the Covid pandemic broke out. And although he was gutted for his ambition to build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out of Mexico, several of the more liberal Western nations have tightened their border control policies accordingly.

The estimated number of illegal immigrants living in the United States fell during Trump’s presidency to a low of just over 10 million in 2019. It has recovered to 11 million since Biden took office. Of course, immigration has been Kamala Harris’ responsibility, but she has failed it as she has failed most things. His public actions are shameful.

Last week, during an evasive interview with Fox TV, he veered into meaningless platitudes. He also played the American public for fools over Biden’s poor health, pretending even three months ago that he was cleverly running the show.

After the first attempt on Donald Trump’s life at a rally in Pennsylvania, his ear still bloody from the passing bullet, he shouted, “Fight, fight, fight.”

Well, the world should ‘pray, pray, pray’ that he is elected on November 5, because only he can restore global stability.
