The wife of an NFL quarterback shared a flattering social media post about Donald Trump, sparking inevitable controversy.
“President Trump is hosting 275 Florida linemen for free at his Doral Miami resort before Hurricane Milton makes landfall,” read conservative YouTuber Benny Johnson’s original post. ‘My president.’
The ‘linemen,’ in this case, have nothing to do with football, but rather the utility workers who helped prepare the region for this week’s historic storm, which has caused catastrophic damage in Florida.
Annah Tagovailoa, wife of injured Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua, has since shared that post on Instagram, sparking inevitable disputes among fans over the relevance of her political views.
“What a brave and strong woman,” one fan wrote in response to her new post. “Good for her.”
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa’s wife Annah has sparked controversy by endorsing Donald Trump
“That’s (sic) a good woman,” added another.
One woman suggested the Dolphins should “extend Tua even further” following the four-year, $212.4 million contract he signed this offseason.
But not everyone was so impressed by Annah’s decision to hit the “share” button on social media.
“Breaking,” one reviewer wrote. ‘Millionaires are Republicans. This is nothing new.
Others had similar opinions: “Someone votes based on their tax bracket.”
One critic argued that the post “makes sense” since “she associates with losers.”
The Trump Organization, the corporation founded 97 years ago by his paternal grandmother, has offered 275 Florida Power and Light (FPL) linemen complimentary rooms in Doral Miami.
‘Honored to have 275 incredible FPL linemen at @TrumpDoral as they prepare to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton!’ Trump’s son and employee Eric wrote on X. ‘You are amazing and the Trump family and the entire state of Florida appreciate you! Enjoy the rooms – they are the best in Florida! Be safe!’
Some fans rushed to Annah’s defense after she shared the pro-Trump post on Instagram.
Critics were quick to dismiss her as another wealthy Trump supporter and an online “loser.”
Annah met Tua at the University of Alabama and has two children with the NFL star
Doral is home to several marquee tournaments, including the final event of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series in 2022.
The property became a source of controversy during Trump’s presidential term in 2019, when he faced accusations of “self-dealing” after offering to host a G7 summit in Doral.
Additionally, the club has faced bedbug rumors, which Trump has called a “made-up story from the radical left.”
Tua Tagovailoa, an outspoken evangelical Christian, met Annah at the University of Alabama and the couple have two children: a son, Ace, and a daughter, Maisey.
Tagovailoa is currently battling another career-threatening head injury and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol awaiting his return to the field.
