- New South Wales businesses closed earlier this year as their debt loads ballooned.
The debts of a group of companies that collapsed in the construction sector have reached 26 million dollars and customers have left thousands of dollars out of their pockets.
A series of businesses under the Apollo Group umbrella closed in quick succession earlier this year, including its large Apollo Kitchens joinery factory in western Sydney, with debts to creditors reaching $23 million.
But it has now been discovered that another $3.3 million is owed, bringing the total to more than $26 million.
One customer, Veronica, 62, told news.com.au she paid more than $14,000 for a new kitchen shortly before the business closed and received nothing.
Apollo Kitchens (NSW) and Brownlen Pty Ltd, the employer arm of the Apollo Group, collapsed in March, resulting in around 100 people, both factory workers and office staff, losing their jobs.
We will continue to report more.
