A millionaire Miami real estate developer accused of trying to poison his ex-wife died after the FBI showed up to dump rain on his oceanfront home on Tuesday.
The FBI was at Sergio Pino’s $8 million Coral Gables home amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of poisoning, arson and stalking made during his nasty divorce battle with his wife of 32 years, Tatiana.
Pino had not been charged with any crime, but four others were arrested in what police called a “stalking conspiracy,” including a man who Tatiana said worked for the couple on their yacht, she said. NBC Miami.
In June, the developer’s home and offices were also searched.
The circumstances of Pino’s death remain unclear: Police have not yet said whether he committed suicide or was killed by law enforcement officers during the raid.
Authorities did not reveal the purpose of the raid, but images showed about a dozen police vehicles outside the home, which had their windows smashed.

Tatiana’s attorney, Sam Rabin, had told NBC that Pino would be arrested Tuesday, but later corrected himself, saying it was unclear whether there would be an arrest or additional searches.
Telemundo reported that a medical examiner was seen entering the house.
Tatiana, 55, married Pino, 67, in 1992 and they have two children and a combined net worth of $153 million, according to a filing.
He is the president of Century Homebuilders Group, considered the largest Hispanic-owned homebuilder in the country.
In 2022, Tatiana filed for divorce from Sergio and since then the two have been in a legal battle.
Tatiana claimed in a statement that she had been suffering from a mysterious illness for years, before a specialist told her she had been ingesting fentanyl.
Her lawyer said Tatiana “feels very strongly” that Pino had been trying to poison her for two years before she filed for divorce.

“I don’t think my housekeepers had a motive. Maybe they had a financial motive,” Tatiana said in the statement.
“I was sick for three years. I left home and never got sick again.”
The four men arrested are accused of being part of a hit-and-run on August 30 outside Tatiana’s home as she was returning from a divorce hearing.
According to video surveillance footage from the home, the unlicensed rental truck quickly fled the scene. Investigators believe the incident was not an accident, the Miami Herald reported.
One of the defendants, Michael Dulfo, reportedly told police he was “hired by someone who was working for the other party” in Pino’s divorce.

Meanwhile, Tatiana recognized another of the accused, Bayron Bennett, 32, as a former employee of Pino.
Bennet told officials he asked Dulfo to hit and run “someone” who wanted him to commit crimes against Tatiana.
He also admitted to setting fire to three cars in 2022 and 2023 outside Tatiana’s sister’s home.
All four men have pleaded not guilty.
Pino, for his part, has repeatedly insisted on his innocence through his lawyer.
