Former first lady Melania Trump claims she forced her husband Donald to abandon his hardline immigration policy of separating children from their parents in the latest bombshell revelation from her new book.
The politician caused an international stir in 2018 while her husband was president, but the former first lady wrote that she forced him to stop her.
“This has to stop,” the former first lady said she immediately told her husband. She wrote that she was “emphasizing the trauma it was causing these families” and he “assured her” he would investigate before announcing the end of the policy on June 20, 2018.

Trump herself is an immigrant who came to the United States from Slovenia and became a U.S. citizen in 2006.
‘I am sympathetic to everyone who wants to find a better life in this country. As an immigrant, I intimately understand the necessary yet arduous process of legally becoming an American,” she wrote of her approach to her husband.
On immigration, he wrote: ‘Given my past experiences with unfair narratives in the media, I always approach the news with some skepticism. Before speaking to him about the border crisis, I educated myself thoroughly about the situation.’

His press secretary at the time, Stephanie Grisham, disputed Trump’s account that the jacket was aimed at the media in her own book.
The now-Trump critic claimed that when they returned to Washington, DC after the trip, Trump was the one who came up with the idea and told them to say they were “talking to the damn press.”
