Meghan Markle is said to be ‘encouraging Prince Harry to put the past behind him and move forward’, according to a royal expert.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond praised the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex, who lives in Montecito, for urging her husband to look to the future.
“If Meghan is encouraging Harry to put the past behind him and move forward, then I think it’s a healthy step. They’ve made their choice, they’ve left the working royal family and they’ve left the UK,” the royal expert said. OK! magazine.
She continued: “Dwelling on perceived injustices of the past and reviving old feuds is a waste of life, and I think Meghan sees that.”
The couple moved to California in 2020 with their son, Prince Archie, as they stepped down as working royals. Princess Lilibet was born a year later in 2021.

“This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted: to create their own life,” a royal source told PEOPLE At that point, “it must feel like an immense relief to leave the UK and go your own way.”
However, in his revealing memoirs, Prince Harry hinted that he misses something about his old family life, as Bond explained.
She said: “In his book Spare writes of his fond memories of some of those family gatherings, and it is natural that he now misses that connection and is perhaps still considering ways to repair the damage done in recent years.”
But the royal expert suggested Meghan probably believes her time within the Royal Family is now “firmly” a thing of the past.
Harry’s friends in the UK have also spoken out about the Duke’s alleged dissatisfaction, saying things have not turned out “the way he wanted”.
According The timesOne of Harry’s “oldest friends” who “gets WhatsApp messages from him from time to time,” said: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t worked out the way he wanted. I think he misses being here (in Britain) terribly and wants to be admired more.”
In their six-part Netflix series, due to premiere in December 2022, Harry said of his move to California with Meghan: “We are exactly where we are supposed to be.” But then the duke added: “I miss the UK.”
With Harry hinting at his desire to rebuild relations with his family in the UK, could a reconciliation be on the horizon?

Following news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Harry rushed back to the UK to be by his father’s side, although their meeting was reported to have lasted less than 45 minutes.
“The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go see him and spend time with him is something I’m grateful for,” he said on ABC’s Good Morning America a few days after the visit. “Any illness brings families together.”
But Harry may face a long road to reconciliation, as the duke’s previous revelations in his memoirs and during his Netflix show caused potentially irreversible damage.
A source close to Charles explained to The timesThe problem for the King and other family members is the concern that if they have a talk with Harry, it will appear in volume two.
