Margot Robbie has announced an exciting new milestone in her career after being a Chanel ambassador for over six years.
The 34-year-old Australian actress is the new face of the French fashion house’s most famous fragrance, Chanel N°5.
The Barbie star has been a Chanel ambassador since 2018 and was the face of Chanel Gabrielle perfume in 2019.
“I think Chanel N°5 is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world. It’s incredible to be a part of it,” Margot said of her new appointment.
“There is an impressive list of women who have been associated with the fragrance over the years. It is a great honour for me to join that long list of incredible talents.”
Margot is following in the footsteps of other notable stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Brad Pitt, but she is not the first Australian actress to be the face of the iconic fragrance.
Nicole Kidman starred in the brand’s famous perfume in its 2004 advertising film for Chanel N°5 ‘Le Film’, which was directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Talking with World Water DayMargot added: ‘I’ve always known about Chanel N°5… It’s an icon and an emblematic brand.’

“It’s something that is always associated with absolute luxury. At least, that’s how I always felt about Chanel.
“Now I am part of the Chanel family; I associate myself more with personal memories and things I have been able to do.”
Margot’s Chanel N°5 campaign will launch in October 2024.
Margot, who is expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley, signed a deal with Chanel in 2018 and has since worn almost exclusively pieces from the luxury brand on the red carpet.
While details of a formal contract were never made public, some speculated that her deal with the brand had come to an end after she wore an emerald green Bottega Veneta gown to the Governors Awards in November 2022.

However, the Babylon star returned in a Chanel look at the Golden Globes months later in January 2023.
Chanel N°5 is one of the world’s best-selling perfumes and is a timeless classic.
The perfume was created in 1920 by Ernest Beaux and has since been adapted by Henri Robert and Jacques Polge.
It was launched in 1921 by designer Coco Chanel and has remained consistently popular.
Coco Chanel insisted that no other perfumer would be able to copy the scent, which was achieved by keeping the formula secret and too expensive to imitate, according to Beaux.
The fragrance has been endorsed by several celebrities including Marilyn, Nicole, Gisele Bundchen and Catherine Deneuve.
Marilyn is perhaps her most famous fan, and is known for saying that she only sleeps with Chanel No. 5 on.
“What do I wear to bed? Chanel No. 5, of course,” she said.
The icon did not become the face of the perfume until 2013, more than 50 years after her death, when she appeared in an advertising campaign.
Margot has almost exclusively worn pieces from the luxury brand on the red carpet since then.
