Emergency crews were called to Seven Mile Beach in Shoalhaven Heads shortly after 8.45am on Monday.

Beachgoers began performing CPR on the unresponsive man before paramedics arrived, but were unable to save him.

The man has not yet been formally identified, but is believed to be in his 60s.
