A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found on a rural New South Wales property.
Emergency services were called to the Henry St property in Gunnedah, central north New South Wales, about 8.20am on Friday following reports of concern for welfare.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a woman, believed to be in her 50s.
She has not yet been formally identified.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Gunnedah Police Station where he is assisting police.
Police believe, based on initial investigations, that the man and woman know each other.
A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialized police. A report will be prepared for the coroner’s information.
