Allison Langdon was brought to tears during the 2024 Logie Awards on Sunday.

The veteran TV presenter, 45, won the Silver Logie for Best News or Public Affairs Presenter, beating the ABC’s David Speers and Sarah Ferguson, Channel Nine’s Liz Hayes and Peter Overton and Seven’s Michael Usher.

It turned out to be an overwhelming moment for the A Current Affair presenter when she took to the stage to accept the award.

“When you listen to all of them (the nominees), you definitely don’t expect yours to be the one that gets named,” he began.

“Everything we do, we do it with heart and soul. If a story doesn’t have heart and soul, we just don’t do it,” he continued.

‘I look at those who have sat in this chair before me, from my father-in-law (Michael Willesee), who started this program.

‘It would have been wonderful if I could have seen the family connection and where it developed.

Langdon, who took over following the dramatic departure of Tracy Grimshaw in 2022, continued to share her love for her predecessor.

“When you listen to all of them, you definitely don’t expect yours to be the one that gets mentioned,” the 45-year-old actress began. “Everything we do, we do it with heart and soul. If a story doesn’t have heart and soul, we just don’t do it,” she continued.

When asked about his future plans, he shared, “I think sailing off into the sunset and doing something completely different.”

“Going back to college and starting something completely different, completely new,” she added excitedly.

Prior to her time at ACA, Ally was a regular guest on the Today show, but was involved in a shocking hydrofoil accident in February 2021 while filming a watersports segment.

After the accident, Ally was pulled out of the water by her life jacket as two male rescuers were seen jumping in to help her.

She was taken to hospital where she received treatment, before flying back to Sydney for an operation on her knee.

Three years after the accident, Ally appears to still be suffering from the injury.
