The lead singer of iconic rock band Jane’s Addiction got into a fight with guitarist Dave Navarro during a concert in Boston on Friday night.

Frontman Perry Farrell was yelling into the microphone before turning on guitarist Dave Navarro and punching him, sparking a fight and stopping the show mid-song.

Fans at the concert say tensions appeared to have been building throughout several songs and some eyewitnesses suggested Farrell began yelling at Navarro during ‘Mountain Song’.

The tension only seemed to grow as the band played through “Three Days,” before Farrell finally took aim and attacked Navarro at the end of “Ocean Days.”

The evening’s entertainment came to an abrupt end.

Navarro appeared to be completely shocked by what had happened as crew members rushed onto the stage and grabbed Farrell in an attempt to pull him away.

Farrell was ordered to stop lunging at him and had to be restrained before crew members and bassist Eric Avery carried him off stage, but he appeared particularly agitated.

The stage lights dimmed, making it difficult for those watching to see exactly what was happening. The area then lit up with a dark blue light as the band walked away.

Moments later, Navarro, Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins reunited on stage and hugged each other, waving to the crowd and flashing peace signs. Loyal fans in the audience went wild as they clapped and cheered.

The band has tour dates scheduled for the rest of this month on their first tour in 15 years that will run through mid-October, but it is unclear whether the tour will be able to continue following the onstage incident.

Fans posting on X on Friday night believe the band may have reached the end of the road once and for all.

“Today is definitely the last day of J Addiction,” one fan wrote.

“Well, it looks like the band isn’t getting back together. That was crazy. Kids, let this be a lesson to you… don’t take drugs and the anger will consume you from the inside,” another added.

“I was there. The crowd was bewildered. Half angry that the show ended early and half excited that we may have seen the last Janes A show,” wrote a third.

The trouble appeared to start in New York City, where the band played two nights earlier this week at Manhattan’s Pier 17 venue overlooking the East River.

Earlier this week, rumours circulated on social media that there were tensions between the members of the group.

At one point, Farrell even admitted to the audience that his voice wasn’t in great shape.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I have to be honest with you. Something is wrong with my voice. I suddenly can’t get the notes out,” he said.

Bassist Eric Avery acknowledged the poor performance in an Instagram post, writing: “I’m looking forward to another chance at this spectacular rooftop venue tonight. I’m optimistic we’ll do better.”
