Laura Loomer is suing Bill Maher after he claimed she had an “arranged relationship” with Donald Trump.
The 31-year-old conservative commentator is going after the comedian, 68, and HBO for defamation for comments he made on his show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher.’
Attorney Larry Klayman claims Loomer has been directly “impacted, victimized and severely harmed” and is seeking $150 million.
A complaint filed in Florida claims that comments made by Maher were spread with “malice” and are “false, misleading and defamatory.”
The complaint adds that Loomer was subjected to “unwarranted ridicule, embarrassment, loss of reputation and professional opportunities, and suffered financial damages.”
Loomer, 31, is pursuing Maher, 68, and broadcaster HBO for defamation over comments he made on his show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ about her and Donald Trump.
A complaint, filed in Florida, claims that comments made by Maher were spread with “malice” and are “false, misleading and defamatory.”
Maher made these comments on his show in early September, saying, “I think maybe Laura Loomer is in an arranged relationship to influence the election because she’s so close to Trump.”
‘She’s 31, she looks like his type… Who is Trump, the fuck? Because I said, he’s nobody. He’s been a dog for too long.
And it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week. I think it might be Laura Loomer.
The lawsuit alleges that the comments “falsely and maliciously accused Ms. Loomer of having committed adultery with Donald Trump.”
He adds: ‘Mrs. Loomer has never had sexual relations with President Donald Trump. In reality, defendant Maher had no basis for making this statement.
“He simply made it up to get attention, notoriety, clicks and profits for himself and defendant HBO, his employer.”
The lawsuit also says that Maher and HBO had “failed to conduct due diligence and investigation of the actual facts.”
It adds that Maher had been informed of the lawsuit filed but “retaliated and aggravated the damage to Loomer” with another segment of his show.
That segment, titled “24 Things You Don’t Know About Laura Loomer,” “continues to make false and derogatory statements about Ms. Loomer.”
Loomer has sought more than $150 million in damages and has demanded a jury trial in the case.
The filing also adds that Loomer had requested a public apology and to be invited on the show to “mitigate past and future harm.”
“The defendants are said to have arrogantly refused, underscoring the malicious intent to harm Loomer.”
The complaint also claims that Maher and HBO’s “anti-Trump” lawyers “viciously and callously” threatened Loomer.

Her attorney Larry Klayman said: ‘Mrs. Loomer has been a strong supporter of President Donald Trump in her profession as a conservative activist and investigative journalist for the past decade.
‘EM. Loomer promotes individual freedoms, strong national security, secure and closed borders, and generally conservative constitutional values, all of which are allied with President Trump’s pro-American policies and agenda.
‘Consequently, he became the target of Bill Maher and Home Box Office, who defend the officials and values of the Democratic Party.
‘They attacked Ms. Loomer with defamatory statements as a vehicle to harm President Trump and his campaign for the presidency of the United States, and to damage Ms. Loomer’s credibility. “Bill Maher is a known Trump hater.”
After Maher’s comments, Trump launched a fiery tirade against him and his late-night talk show guests on Truth Social.
Loomer has become a fixture at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home despite his outlandish views, which include racist comments about Kamala Harris.
In a post on X, Loomer said: “Today I filed a defamation lawsuit against Bill Maher and HBO for falsely accusing me of having an affair with Donald Trump.”
Loomer had previously denied Maher and threatened to sue him at the time.
She said: ‘I should sue Bill Maher for defamation. This is beyond the pale and a complete and blatant lie.
She doubled down, calling the relationship allegations “incredibly disrespectful” toward President Trump and First Lady Melania.
After Maher’s comments, Trump launched a fiery tirade against him and his late-night talk show guests on Truth Social.
The former president, who accused Maher of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome,” called Maher “messy, sloppy and tired.”
Loomer has become a regular at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home despite his outlandish views, which include racist comments about Kamala Harris.
Trump said last month at a news conference that he is unaware of the controversy surrounding Loomer and said he has no control over it.
In a fuller statement on Truth Social, Trump appeared to repudiate some of his more controversial comments.
He said: ‘Laura Loomer does not work for the Campaign. She is a private citizen and long-time advocate. I do not agree with the statements he made.’
However, he then followed up with a statement of support for Loomer, who said that 9/11 was an inside job and that if Kamala Harris “the White House will smell like curry and White House speeches will be facilitated through a central of calls”.
At a press conference afterward at his Los Angeles golf club facing the Pacific Ocean, Trump refused to criticize her.
He said: ‘I don’t control Laura. I can’t tell Laura what to do. She is a follower. Instead, he called her a “free spirit” and claimed to know nothing about the offensive post.
Vice President Harris is the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants.
Loomer was spotted on Trump’s private jet, alarming many of the former president’s allies who believe she could hurt his chances in the upcoming election.
When contacted by DailyMail.com, his campaign did not comment on why Loomer was allowed to fly with Trump.
DailyMail.com has contacted HBO for comment on the lawsuit.
