Radio star Kyle Sandilands showed his softer side on Wednesday as he reached into his own pocket to help a struggling Sydney family.

The charitable act came when Kyle and co-star Jackie O Henderson were playing their daily $10,000 pop quiz, which awards listeners $100 for every question they answer correctly or $10,000 for a clean answer.

A 23-year-old woman named Rhiannon phoned in to play and revealed that she was going to use the $10,000 to help buy her struggling parents a new car.

An emotional Rhiannon revealed that her father had just lost his job in the middle of building a new house.

“His car is about to leave,” she said through tears.

‘Dad doesn’t have a job at the moment and mom doesn’t work long hours, so we’re struggling. We are building a new house. “So I just want to do something good and help them.”

Unfortunately, Rhiannon was disappointed as she only answered two questions correctly and walked away with just $200.

However, after revealing that he can’t stand hearing women cry, Kyle went rogue and stopped the show to go against the competition rules.

He offered to relieve some of the stress on the struggling family by offering to personally buy them a car.

Kyle’s magnanimous act came after Jackie suggested they play double or nothing to allow Rhiannon another chance to win the grand prize.

‘Turn off the music. “Forget double or nothing,” Kyle announced.

‘If you answer the next question correctly, I will personally buy your parents a car. It’s not a Ferrari 458 or anything like that. It’s just a car. I’ll buy it from you personally.’

Jackie then asked Rhiannon the question: ‘Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck are characters created by which cartoon company?’

Rhiannon correctly responded with, “Disney,” and was truly elated when Kyle announced, “I’m buying your dad a car.”

Overcome with emotion, Rhiannon called her father Craig, who was equally surprised by Kyle’s kind gesture.

‘I’m going to buy them a car. Just to ease the pain of the shit that’s going on,” Kyle announced.

Struggling to contain his emotions, Craig thanked Kyle for his generosity, adding that there were people worse off who deserved it more.

“No, you don’t have to do that,” Craig said.

“There are a lot more people who are struggling than us.”

“I love people like you,” Jackie chimed in before Craig fought back tears and offered his heartfelt thanks to the radio hosts.

“That’s so beautiful, there are beautiful people in this world,” he added.
