PRESENTATION The Erin Patterson Trial:

Australian mother-of-two Erin Patterson has been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder after allegedly serving poisonous mushrooms to members of her ex-husband’s family.

In July 2023, Gail Patterson, Don Patterson and Heather Wilkinson died, and Ian Wilkinson was left fighting for his life after eating a Wellington steak served at a family lunch.

Four counts of attempted murder of her ex-husband committed in previous years have also been added to the indictment.

In this episode, journalist Caroline Cheetham and Melbourne-based correspondent Wayne Flowers discuss the case and the strict reporting restrictions in place in the run-up to the trial, which is scheduled to begin on 28 April 2025.
