Instagram was down for thousands of users in the US on Friday.
Starting at 3:30 p.m. ET, people began reporting issues viewing stories, uploading posts, and sending direct messages.
Meta, the parent company that owns Instagram, said it was investigating the issue and working to fix it. He said an update would be made tonight at 8 p.m.
Mark Zuckerberg’s company suffered the biggest outage in its history in March, leaving Facebook, Instagram and Messenger down for hours.
