A wealthy tourist’s $1,000 tryst with a Las Vegas prostitute turned out to be a costly mistake after she made off with his jewelry worth nearly $120,000.
The unidentified man met the high-priced escort, identified as Maiah Meleschi, after a night of gambling at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, located on the glitzy Las Vegas Strip in July 2022.
The next morning, the man woke up alone in his bed to find Meleschi missing, along with her $85,000 Rolex, her $30,000 gold necklace and $3,000 in cash.
The man reported the incident to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Surveillance footage showed the initial meeting and then Meleschi leaving the hotel wearing a large gold chain and a watch, according to a local police report. 8NewsNow reported.
A warrant had been issued for her arrest and she was captured earlier this month and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. She has been charged with grand larceny, robbery and possession of stolen property.

The man filed a police report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, during the investigation the man provided details about how he met the scammer.
He told police he was visiting Sin City and was playing blackjack at the casino until 5 a.m. when the woman approached him, according to court documents.
Surveillance footage shows Meleschi first approaching the man in the casino before the two walked together toward the hotel elevators.
When the man woke up alone in the hotel room and saw that his valuable belongings were gone, that’s when he realized he had been scammed.

During the investigation, police found the pawn shop Meleschi went to and found the gold necklace, which he reportedly sold for $11,600 — more than half of what he had paid — but the Rolex and cash were still missing.
Meleschi had previous arrests for prostitution and trespassing, police said.
She is due to appear in court on August 8. She could face prison time if convicted.
