The problems occur just as many Americans are beginning their workday, leaving them unable to send emails, search for content or watch videos to pass the time.

However, users in the UK are bearing the brunt of the outage with more than 11,000 reports sent to DownDetector.

In the United States, 57 percent of the problem comes from search, 32 percent from the website, and 11 percent cites Google Drive.

Users have flocked to X to share their frustrations about the issues Google is experiencing and to see if others are experiencing the same glitches.

User Barry Bureau posted: “The scary thing about Google going down for 20 minutes is that for those 20 minutes all of humanity had to rely on their own knowledge. It’s amazing we survived.”

DownDetector’s issue map shows problems affecting Los Angeles and New York City, as well as Boston and Chicago.
