A golf pro at Donald Trump’s Florida club has revealed just how good the former president really is on the course, after Trump argued with President Joe Biden over his handicaps.
Trump’s passion for golf is well documented: The 78-year-old is frequently seen on the courses at his clubs in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and Bedminster, New Jersey.
And after he talked up his golf skills at the presidential debate, saying he had just won two club championships, the head golf professional at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, vouched for his abilities.
“At our club championship in March, I watched President Trump hit a perfect 210-yard iron to 10 feet from the hole,” John Nieporte said at the Republican National Convention, according to the The HuffPost.
“He needed to make that putt to win. Do you think he did it? You can believe he did it.”
Donald Trump has claimed to have won 23 golf championships, and a golf pro has endorsed his skills.
President Biden claimed he had reduced his handicap to six while he was vice president, a claim Trump mocked.
Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, later claimed that Trump had “an incredible golf swing” and could even keep up with professional golfers.
“He can kick some of those guys’ asses,” Habba said.
On Thursday, Trump was joined by his wife, Melania, as he signed paperwork to become the Republican presidential nominee.
He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren as he prepared to address the Republican National Convention.
Ivanka Trump, Don Jr. and Tiffany were with their father in the main box of the Milwaukee convention hall.
Earlier, sportswriter Rick Reilly accused Trump of cheating at golf and using a “turbocharged golf cart” that was faster than his opponents’ to move his balls.
Speaking to Deadline at the White House In March, Reilly also claimed that Trump “has never won a championship on a course he doesn’t own and operate.”
“I’ve always said golf is like bike shorts. They reveal a lot about a person,” Reilly said. “And what it reveals about this guy is that he can’t lose. He has to win and he’ll do anything to cheat.”
“And I know this because I played golf with him and he took seven mulligans. He said, ‘Give me a chip-in.’ I’d never heard of that.”

Either way, Trump is quite confident in his own golfing skills and previously claimed during the debate that Biden “can’t hit a ball 50 yards.”
Biden would later claim that he had previously been disabled by six while he was vice president, something Trump mocked, before calling his political opponent “a child.”
Earlier this month, Trump emerged as a surprise outside candidate to be the US Ryder Cup captain after Tiger Woods reportedly turned down the role.
He was reportedly given 500/1 odds to lead the United States against Luke Donald’s European team. Betting bonus code.
